About Me
My name is Marcus Swan and I'm a graphic designer. I'm off travelling the world with my girlfriend Elaine at the moment, so I'm not doing too much design work, just taking in all the great, good and not-so-good from all the various places and cultures we're visiting.
I studied Visual Communications for 4 years in IADT Dún Laoghaire, Ireland graduating in 2007 with 1st class honours. I also won the 2007 Design History Society Essay Prize for my thesis. Previous to that I did a bit of academic wandering, including studying English and Art History in University College Dublin for a year, which was nice but frustrating at the same time. After 4 years of study I worked won a place in the Threex3 and got to work for 9 months in Zero-G, Atelier David Smith and DETAIL, three of the best and most interesting design studios in Dublin. I worked on a smörgåsbord of projects ranging from corporate interactive video presentations to small print-run art journals, from collaborative artists websites to major studio album and advertising designs. I also went back to DETAIL and Zero-G for an extra 3 months each, just because they were desperate… I also worked on a few extracurricular projects myself including a website for ace photographer Daniel Holfeld.
If you want to have a look at some of my (admittedly older) work then you can download a PDF here. So have a read of the blog, check out my photos and videos and if you want to get in touch send me an email.
